- GRADE BOOK POWER allows the use of either two-9 week or 3-6 week terms
- per semester. Many special options included for both elementary and
- secondary teachers. Creates over 30 different reports. Individual
- progress reports for students/parents include assignment date, title,
- points possible, points earned, letter grade, category averages,
- grading trend, personal & general comments, absences, tardies, and
- missing assignments, optional parent signature, grade override,
- weighting, low test throw out option, grading scale, optional semester
- exam, extra credit, seating charts, detailed attendance and tardy
- reports.

- QUICK START (for those that don't like to read the manual)
- 1. Make a subdirectory called grades Type MD GRADES and enter.
- 2. Change to GRADES subdirectory. Type CD GRADES and enter.
- 3. Copy files to the subdirectory. Type COPY A:*.* and enter.
- 4. Start the program the first time by typing GRADES /INSTALL
- 5. Enter Y FOR Yes to start a new school year.
- 6. Answer the other four questions when displayed.
- a. Drive (and optional subdirectory) to contain student data
- b. Enter the School Year (like 1995-96)
- c. Enter number of quarters (terms) per semester (2 or 3)
- d. Enter the starting quarter (term) number (1 to 6)
- 7. Go to the SET-UP MENU.
- 8. Save the Settings on the SET-UP MENU.
- 9. Enter your class names on the NAMES MENU.
- 10. Enter your student names on the NAMES MENU.
- 11. All Menu options are now available.
- 12. If you like the program and want to continue using
- GRADE BOOK POWER, you must register and send payment.

- Differences between Evaluation and Registered Versions:
- The evaluation version allow entry of up to 17 grades per student per
- class. The registered version allows 60 grades. The registered version
- may also include additions to this program since the release of this
- evaluation version.

- ===== Installation =====================================

- DIRECTIONS FOR COPYING TO THE HARD DISK USING WINDOWS
- 1. Go to FILE MANAGER
- On the left side of the screen you should see C:\
- with the directories listed under the C:\ symbol.
- 2. Place the mouse pointer on the C:\ symbol and click once.
- C:\ should now be highlighted.
- 3. Click on the File Menu.
- 4. Click on Create Directory
- You should see a box Create Directory.
- At Name type C:\GRADES Click OK.
- If you scroll down the left side of the screen,
- you should see the new directory GRADES
- 5. Place the GRADEBOOK POWER diskette in drive A:
- 6. Click on the A: Drive Icon (under the Title Bar).
- You should see a directory for the files on the disk listed.
- 7. Click on the File Menu. A menu will drop down.
- 8. Click on Select Files. A window will appear.
- 9. Click on Select. Lines will appear around the file names,
- 10. Click on Close. The file names will appear to be colored in.
- 11. Click on File. A menu will drop down.
- 12. Click on Copy. A window will appear.
- In the box following TO: type C:\GRADES
- 13. Click OK
- 14. You can start Gradebook Power from FILE MANAGER
- On the left side of the screen you should see C:\
- with the directories listed under the C:\ symbol.
- 15. If you scroll down the left side of the screen,
- you should see the directory GRADES
- Place the mouse pointer on the GRADES symbol and click once.
- GRADES should now be highlighted.
- 16. The Gradebook Power file names will appear on the
- right side of the screen.
- 17. Click on the filename GRADES.EXE

- DIRECTIONS FOR COPYING TO THE HARD DISK USING DOS
- 1. First Create a Subdirectory named GRADES for the program.
- At the DOS prompt, you will see C:\>
- Type MD GRADES and press Enter
- 2. Now you will change to the GRADES subdirectory.
- Type CD GRADES and press Enter
- Your DOS prompt now reads C:\GRADES\>
- 3. Now you will copy the files from the diskette to this subdirectory.
- Place the GRADEBOOK POWER diskette in drive A:
- Type COPY A:*.* and press Enter
- You will see a message when the copying is done.
- 4. Remove the diskette from the disk drive and store
- it in a safe place.
- 5. Type GRADES and press Enter to start Gradebook Power.
